The customer requirements for this project was to design, specify and install an easy to use audio solution that would work in conjunction with a Bose 'Lifestyle System' that the client already possessed. The brief also required the ability to access music stored on a home computer and be able to control everything from a single remote control. In addition, two new LED televisions were also needed for a lounge and a playroom.

Following a consultation visit and the clients home, we proposed a solution based on the capabilities that Sonos offers. With this option, music can be easily distributed around the home along pretty much any speaker option that the customer chooses. In this instance a 'Sonos Zone Player' placed in each of the 10 rooms, giving instant access to the PC stored music via a solid network that we designed through the use of wiring diagrams, and installed based on the requirements of the project. Speaker options chosen included the customers existing Lifestyle system plus the addition of various stunning speakers from the popular Bose including their new Bose T20 Lifestyle System, a 'Homewide Speaker System' and their 'SA' amplifiers thus giving the capability of adding in-ceiling speakers to the designated rooms.

The control of the new system was a very important part of the customers requirements with the specific request to have everything controllable from an easy to use remote control in each of rooms where new equipment was to be installed. Our previous use of the Philips 'Pronto' remote control has always been an excellent addition to newly installed systems and can be easily programmed and laid out to give an exact match to what the customer needs. A pronto was setup in each of the rooms, thus giving immediate access to all of the music stored on the home computer as well as being able to control volume, the new Sony LED TV's as well the existing Bose Lifestyle System.

Finally, the storage of 'behind the scenes' amplifiers, network hubs and network drives (NAS) was also important as we were asked to locate everything in a single space from which everything would work from. A custom made 'rack' was built in which everything could be conveniently stored as well as providing power and cable management. Upon completion, a full demonstration of the new audio system was given to the client who was extremely satisfied with the installation process and the overall outcome of what had been achieved.
