Potters are now working with a world leading sports simulation technology expert.
For sports lovers of all kinds; superior camera tech meets immersive gameplay for unparalleled realism and precision. 60+ sports are playable on the latest simulators, over 1,500 games and 3,500+ world famous sports stadiums.
Through photometric technology, a super speed camera system will precisely track your movements and the flight of the ball, puck, disc or shuttlecock by taking series of images during and immediately after impact or release. Photometric camera-based systems tend to be most reliable indoors as they use vision sensors that output pixel-level intensity changes in motion events at very high speeds. The cameras record up to 200 frames per second to measure path, face angle, impact speed, launch angle, the direction of travel, plus additional information to calculate any spin, hit or release factor to deliver extremely accurate results.
Infra-red lights deliver a powerful 850nm spectrum from 60 LED lights with a beam angle of 60° which ensures that the complete detection area from the player to the screen receives the right amount of light for the system to measure the movements and ball flight. As well as having the advantage of delivering a substantial amount of light for the detection system, the lights are not visible by the naked eye, and will not flood the screen with visible light. This results in a brighter, clearer and sharper projected image which vastly improves the players experience.
As lovers of all things tech for the home (and garden), we're often to be found at exhibitions and conferences over the world, taking part in discussions regarding the latest developments and products being released.
Last month for example, we were introduced to an amazing piece of kit for both indoor and outdoor spaces that literally stopped us in our tracks, and made us smile, a lot.
This product solves a lot of problems, providing the ultimate in flexibility. Imagine being able to create an environment for ultimate viewing quality on a large scale screen, but then for that screen to fold away, becoming a piece of art that takes up a tiny fraction of the space of a screen, in minutes…
Fully automated, silent opening (60 seconds to rise to its height of 7.8 ft, then its MicroLED panels unfold within 25 seconds), up to 180 degrees rotation, integrated audio, full control system, and Adaptive Gap Calibration to ensure a 100% seamless picture quality.

Connecting your home with smart technology has more advantages than simple convenience.
Having all your appliances and smart products in control at the touch of a button makes things easy, but it also saves more than just your time.
The ability smart products have in your home can reduce your energy usage significantly. You never have to worry if all the lights are turned off or if you left the back door unlocked. App and keypad-controlled systems allow you to monitor your lighting, electricals and security for peace of mind and save money on your energy bills in the process.
Combining smart technology with your daily-use items allows you to synchronise your house with your routine. Integrated sensors and customised timers and conditions completely personalises your smart home, making sure it’s right for you, all whilst considering the environmental impact and your bank account.
You never again leave the house or go to bed wondering if you’ve turned everything off. App-based controls means that you can remotely check your lights, appliances and smart technology, reducing unnecessary energy consumption while no one’s home.
Room-by-room programming means that while you are confined to a certain area the rest of the house can ‘shut down’. For example, while you are sleeping you can put your house into ‘night-mode’ which can optimise sleeping conditions and direct attention solely to the bedrooms.
Connecting your smart technology to your smart home system allows you to see your overall energy usage and identify where improvement can be made. By monitoring your appliances’ efficiencies, you can distinguish which need upgrading, may be in need of repair, or are simply not the best in the market.
Combining technology with buildings allows us to see insights into the working order of our houses in a way that we never have before. Not only can the homeowner create a more organised and hassle-free life, but also boost its energy efficiency. Integrate a smart home system and see the difference to your monthly bills.
To create a fluid home cinema, there are factors you need to consider beyond the screen to provide a real immersive cinematic experience.
Acoustics, furniture and comfort are all features that you need to consider when creating and designing your home cinema. Without these, your room can become flat and uncomfortable, definitely not your desired outcome.
Acoustics play a big part in how you experience your cinema room. Imagine watching an action-packed movie with lots of bangs and excitement, but your audio system and acoustic set-up doesn’t amplify this around the room correctly, making it flat and unenjoyable.
There are lots of options out there to create the perfect acoustic environment for a home cinema, but how do you know what’s right for you?
The specific room and its existing features will determine how much acoustic treatment it will need. Smaller rooms will have very different requirements to larger rooms, or those of unusual structure or shape. Because of this, having a bespoke design and investing in the best quality products for your cinema room means that the result will be much more worthwhile than if you were to use generic materials with no real thought to their placement or function.
The acoustics will also determine the layout of the room, the sound system used and its placement. There are many different sound systems available on the market, but opting for surround sound technology will provide a much more immersive experience than any other. The layout of your room will dictate where your speakers need to be placed for an optimal viewing experience, and therefore where and what other acoustic treatment is needed.
To optimise the sound pathways, acoustic wallcoverings and/or panels can be placed at ‘reflection points’ to prevent reverberation and direct the best quality sound towards the viewer. Bass traps quite literally ‘trap’ lower frequency sound in the corners of the room, reducing any booming sensations reflecting.
Whilst all this consideration is going into directing the best quality sound towards the viewer, it’s important that these ‘impact points’ are also optimised. Keep your space clear from any hard surfaces. Soft furnishings will absorb sound better, so opt for carpet or rugs over wooden floors, cupholders in comfy padded sofas over side tables, and avoid filling the room with too much additional décor. After all the acoustic investment, the last thing you want to do is fill the space with hard furniture that bounces the sound around the room.
It's important to get this balance right to create an immersive experience in your home cinema, so consulting with design and install experts like Potters Home Digital will ensure your outcome is the best it can be.
We can now say we're back-to-back winners of this prestigious award!
The whole team are extremely proud to have won this huge accolade for the second year in a row.
Working with a local property management partner, we designed an upgrade from a previous automation system to URC’s Total Control.
Originally, the conversion was based on an inability to secure products from another control brand but, once the homeowner experienced Total Control, the project expanded in scale, functionality, and integration. The home boasts 17 touch screens, 8 handheld remotes, 18 audio zones, 8 video zones, gate entry, security camera integration, HVAC integration, and extensive Lutron Lighting.
The video experience includes Apple TV integration, video intercom, and quick functions specific to each room as well as whole home control of elements such as lighting, HVAC, and security.
The automation system interfaces throughout the home offering uniformity and ease of use for the homeowner.
As quoted by the user:
"The new system is great, it’s easy to use and so much clearer than our previous system. The team at Potters have done an amazing job and the new equipment looks great. We hadn't heard of URC before, as we only had a history with another control brand, but now we have seen it, it looks much better."
This is a truly fantastic system, that delivers on our values to enhance lives and lifestyles through the use of technology while being simple and easy to use.
